The Fiercest Faith for Family

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8 ESV

If this is true, and it is God’s truth, why aren’t more families living this out? Why aren’t more families restored, rather than torn apart?

The term family comes to mean many different things, these days. Sadly, for many people reading this, it carries the weight of your baggage – hurts from your past and bondage in your present.

I called this post the fiercest faith, because it takes a fighting faith in Jesus Christ to combat the lies of Satan, trying to destroy your family.

These lies come in many ugly faces, but the most common is the lie, “Forgiveness must be earned. They don’t deserve forgiveness. They must pay for what they’ve done!”

This one lie has ripped apart so many families, the Devil ran out of room in his imaginary tally book of victories.

However, it’s not too late to fight! If you are experiencing turmoil in your family, in any form or capacity, take up the armor of God and fight the real enemy here – the Devil. Your family member, whether Christian or not, is worth your love, and ultimately, your forgiveness.

Break the bondage, break the chains!

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

Ephesians 6:10–13 ESV

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”

Ephesians 6:14–18 ESV
