The Miscarriage Project: Testimonials of Parents Who Found Hope in God by Adrianne Babbitt is a compilation of blog entries not only from the author but from other women who have experienced miscarriages. The husband of the author describes what it was like from the standpoint of the father of the baby. Several of the entries were written by people who found comfort from certain Bible verses which are included. Many common emotions were mentioned, such as anger at God, fear, depression, pain, loss, feeling like it is your fault, and feeling like you can’t trust God. Words of encouragement are given, such as “it’s not your fault,” “don’t let the fear of losing another child keep you from trying to have more children,” and “you are not alone in your loss.”
The Miscarriage Project by Adrianne Babbitt is an amazing book of pain and grief. But it was helpful to be reminded that healing is available through faith in God. As a grandmother of twin girls who live in heaven, I have a pretty good idea of what my son and daughter-in-law went through, and it is good to know the feelings and pain are the same that others in this situation experience. I love to hear how God sends people into your life, and Scriptures that He places in your heart to help you. I am glad to be reminded that Satan is responsible for bad things and puts things between us and our relationship with God. I like being reminded that “Without afflictions in our lives, we may never grow in our faith.” This book would be valuable for everyone because somewhere in your life you will know someone who has experienced a miscarriage.
